Pastoral Response II is a follow-up to Pastoral Response held May 2016.

As people of faith we stand together with our brothers and sisters who are suffering. Many families throughout Western New York are dealing with the problems caused by addiction. How can we support one another to reduce the scourge that is affecting our community?

9:00-9:30 a.m. Registration & light continental breakfast

9:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. Conference

1:00 p.m. Ecumenical Prayer Service

1:30 p.m. Narcan Training

-Dr. Paul Updike, Director of Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services for Catholic Health System

-Beth Anzalone, Executive Director, WNY United

-Beth Gerardi, School Counselor

-Avi Israel, Save the Michaels of the World

-Deputy Aaron Naegely, Erie County Sheriff's Office

Topics include:

-Understanding addiction (medical and spiritual perspective)

-Communities that promote social, emotional, mental, behavioral and spiritual health

-School based suicide prevention, intervention & postvention

-Supporting families who are trying to deal with addiction

-View from the Sheriff's Department
